The Valley of the Deer

glenfiddich_logo“In the summer of 1886 our founder, William Grant, set out to fulfill a lifelong ambition of creating the ‘best dram in the valley’.

With the help of his seven sons and two daughters, William built his distillery in a single year. Their hard work was rewarded on Christmas Day 1887 when the first drop of spirit flowed from the small copper pot stills. William named his distillery Glenfiddich, Gaelic for ‘Valley of the Deer’.”

Perhaps one of the simplest form of introduction to one of the finest Malt. I have first tasted GF in Moet, Def Col and yes, that was kinda “love at first taste” :).

Recently three bottles of GF -12 yr and 15 yr arrived from a duty free shop from Dubai. While two bottles were graciously placed, we finished one on the same night.

and yes, I have had one peg on it’s 125th year anniversary on X’mass Day :).
