A Rainy Day @ Dhikala

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” John Ruskin

The unwanted heavy rain washed away our morning safari. The roads leading to the grassland were turned into small rivers. The heavy rain forced the elephants to move inside the dense forest. Only a herd of deer was seen grazing in the the grassland. That was my first experience of rain inside the Corbett National Park.

We approached the herd once the rain had stopped. Few of them were sitting on the wet grass carpet. The whole atmosphere was beautiful. The cold wind was carrying fresh smell from the north.

I clicked few pictures with my 70-200 lens. I wish I had a better wide angle lens and some more time to experiment. The rain had started again and I packed my gear for the second time.
